#18 Exit Through The Giftshop
The uncanny tale of Banksy-Disciple Thierry Guetta and his obsession with street art will be shown in the forum over the weekend. Bring your sleeping bags and leave your preconceptions at the door.

#16 The Graphite Set
Pairing each song with an illustration, The Graphite Set blend abstract lyrics and beautiful drawings to expert effect. Previously Lily and the Hackabouts, these guys have a real drive to create something unique, something the Brainchildren can’t help but admire.

#15 Justina Kehinde
The second of twins, the youngest of eight, Justina’s passion for justice and the world’s social state is evident in her works. Jazz singer, public speaker, poetic dreamer, Justina admits to being forever on the brink of conceiving a profound idea that always seems to disappear just as the pen is removed from behind her ear. Beautifully human poetry delivered by a close friend of the Brainchild team.

#14 Palmistry
Palmistry is a sexy and consuming mangle of Rn’B and bass music; voices trail off into the night while the bass throbs into the scene in sudden and objectively uncompromised positions. It has the striking ability to feel and sound like something you’ve heard before, whilst surprising you with its urge to distract and discourage from genre specifications. Thrilled to have such a unique, wonderful guy headlining our mainstage this year!

#13 Onoe Caponoe
Signed to Audio Doughnuts, Onoe Caponoe is praised for his deconstructive, ‘LSD-meets-hip-hop’ vibes. An amazing talent, Onoe Caponoe’s unafraid to take stylistic risks, to the triumph of his stunning debut LP “Central Control”. Described as “Funk Mafi Slump Bashy Drunk Smashy Crunk Mashy Skunk Trash Punk Flash Funkadelic West Coast Tripple Playaz Slayaz”, we booked Caponoe because his music holds the ability to connect and even challenge the way you utilise your influences as a musician. Watch Onoe Caponoe and stretch the bounds of your musical imagination.

#12 Chimène Suleyman is a writer and spoken word artist from North London. She was commissioned by the Royal Opera House to write and curate her own text installation, and runs an incredible spoken word night in London’s East End called Kid, I Wrote Back. An absolute inspiration, we are thrilled to have her with us. Come and witness her wonderful words.

#11 Howl
James Franco plays Allen Ginsberg, influential beat-poet and figurehead of the Beat Generation, in the retelling of his life. An extraordinarily relevant story, portraying both the power of words and the dangers of censorship.

#10 The Majestic
Effortlessly showing the power and vitality of rock reggae roots, The Majestic’s career spans decades, touching the hearts of all who encounter them. What really struck us about these guys is their ability to summon the spirit of the sound for everyone to go nuts with, with no further agenda beyond spreading love and joy to all they encounter. Supporting incredible bands from Here & Now to Misty in Roots, we are oh-so honoured to have them with us over the weekend!

Conclusion of site visit number two - the grass needs cutting, the landowner is a don and will be there for the duration of the event. He has enough dry humour to earn him a place on the comedy, or at least I hope he was joking about the gun he owned… and that no one will fail to have fun in this field. Bare excited.
#9 Nichol Keene and Toby de Angeli
Nichol and Toby have been working together since 2011, using words to earn their keep. This summer they are performing at Secret Garden Party, Wilderness Festival, Bestival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Houses of Parliament and Lounge on the Farm Festival. With this in mind (alongside the amazing people that they are!) we’re bloody privileged to have them grace the Brainchild stage this year. An incredible double act, these guys will undoubtedly wow you with the mastery of their words.

#8 Free The Network
How Occupy Wall Street became more than a modern day protest: this is the power of the network. 21-year-old Isaac Wilder, terrified at the prospect of “an irreparably centralized Internet”, decides to provoke positive action, founding The Free Network Foundation with fellow college dropout Charles Wyble. An incredible insight into the way in which DIY hack-tech is changing the discourse of modern day protests and the power of the people.

Artist number 6 I suppose, but really I just wanted to share this video of Sean Mahoney killing it at Streetfest this year. He gets it, and having seen him perform recently we’re all in for a treat. Having said that, he’s just as gold off mic - so we’ve got some great company to top our great line up. He’ll be taking part in the comedy as well as the poetry. He’s also part of The Rubix Collective who’ve just recorded their ‘Red Album’, check it out. Released on Roundhouse Records, with a launch on 16th June.
#6: Henry Skewes
A truly gifted songwriter, Henry has touched the hearts of bloggers with his self-titled debut EP. With regular airplay in Switzerland and a growing fan base in the UK, Henry’s set for great things, yet still carries the same unassuming, personable air as the first time we met. I picked him up in a management capacity earlier this year because I was touched by the beauty of his integrity, so wonderfully realised in the music he creates. He’s inspired me in the way he inspires all those with the pleasure of meeting him - to find a medium of self expression that doesn’t stray from who you are. A true festival favourite, Henry encompasses the raw talent, passion and ability that drives Brainchild, and all who sail in her.

#5: Bridget Minamore
Bridget is a writer and student who has written with the National Theatre’s New Writers programme, had her poems exhibited at a TED conference and met the Queen at a reception for Young Artists last year. Writing poetry since she was 17, she has performed at prestigious venues including the Roundhouse, 10 Downing Street and the King’s College Cambridge Women’s Dinner. She’s also one of our very own, responsible for all of the incredible literary acts showcased at Brainchild this year. Brought into the team for her incredible passion and drive, she’s exceeded herself in everything she’s put her hand to as a colleague, creative and friend. Feminist after my own heart, armed with a keen empathy and a quick wit, we’ll be cheering in the audience, and so should you.
